Okay do not waste your time. When you walk in the door it smells like a hamster cage, but yet it's an assisted living facility? Anyways the lady in the admin office is rude and very unprofessional. I walked in after seeing on indeed that they were having open interviews and I had a printed copy of my resume and was prepared for the interview. After speaking with the woman she informs me that I got the locations mixed up and they aren't doing interviews but I could still apply. (Note: on indeed that address was listed) So, I sit down to fill out about 4-5 pages of information because she told me I could not attach my resume and leave the experience piece blank. After doing so I step into her office and she looks over my application all while making faces at everything I entered (Note: I am nineteen years old with over two years experience as a nurse aide). But before she even looked my application over she had me standing in the door frame while she texted away. Anyways she then looks at me very seriously and tells me they only offer $8 hourly, I almost cried laughing right in her face. It's not even worth wasting your time! Drive up to the chick-fil-a and fill out an application you could get paid the same for a lot less work! And if you are desperately looking for a job and you have experience as a CNA look at agencies (Favorite Healthcare Staffing), do not deal with people and their stink attitudes for $8 an hour.
Do NOT I repeat do NOT put a loved one here! They don't care about the individuals they are suppose to take care of as people they are a pay check to them. If they are mad or upset or in their feelings in any way they WILL neglect and turn their back on your loved one. They have no morals. The administration is the worst for it. I pray if I ever need that kind of assistance I don't get put at carillon. Esp not the wake forest one. If I could put zero stars I would
Same experience as Linda. This is the WORST place for your loved one to live. The staff has no skills or common sense. Anyone pulled off the street can become an aide here. They complain about their pay because this place puts all the $$$$ they take from families into making the place look nice but don't provide the care the residents need or are promised during sales pitch! They are greedy, uncaring, unfriendly and unskilled! Better to keep your loved one away from this terrible place.
Terrible awful place to work!!! Poorly ran, vindictive managers and SUPER UNDER STAFFED!! Then family members want to know why they loved ones continues to fall, becuse they're under staffed, too many residents and not enough staff. All the ED is interested in is filling the place up with skilled nursing residents with unqualified staff. As the previous review says they will hire anybody off the streets to keep managers from coming in to do the work. All the employees complain about the hard work and low wages and everybody wants to quit. Even the residents complain how bad the food is and short staffed and how they raise the rent by hundreds of dollars at the beginning of the year. Not to mention the countless times the kitchen has ran out of food before all the residents were served and they eat PORK every other day! Please save your loved ones life don't take them there!!
This is one of the toughest seasons of any family's life. Both of my parents are at Carillon of Wake Forest; my dad is in the Garden Place, my mom assisted living side. Yes, physical care is important, and I'm comfortable with their care here. It's not perfect, but we've concluded it's unrealistic to expect the full one-on-one attention we all desire for our loved ones. For us, it is just as important to receive the emotional support, love and care; not only for my parents, but for the entire family. The staff have proven to be helpful, curtious, and sensitive to our needs. The nurses, med techs, and CNA's truly care for my parents. Not only by meeting their physical needs, but by hugging my mom as they pass her in the hallway. Giving her encouraging comments, which build her self esteem. Some have even been known to kiss my dad on the forehead, or joke with him just to lighten up a sad situation. Their big smiles and friendly greetings help brighten the task of having to watch my parents' aging and declining. Carillon has become home for my parents, family to us, and we're forever grateful to them.
