My son and I met "Storm" a Belgian Malinois and his K9 handler at Joyner Park this morning. Even though the officers were on a break from their vehicle, eating breakfast and chewing their Kong, they still took time to talk with us about their service to the community. It goes without saying that Storm was well-behaved and we had permission to take a photo of this magnificent animal. His handler (I am sorry, I did not get his name) was courteous, kind and patient with all our questions. I commend them both for the work they do, but more importantly I appreciate the time they spent with us. You can easily judge a man's character. Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking.
Took them 20 min to show up to my house at 3 in the am.
Some lady was speeding going at least 50mph through the parking lot of Walmart tonight. She nearly hit me and my 4 year old daughter, within inches. Sped off and smoked her tires when I confronted her - right next to my daughter. I later run into her in the store. Called Wake Forest PD and was told, "well ma'am, since I didn't see it I can't do anything". YES you could have. There's this thing called video and surveillance that caught it. And are you ever present during a crime? No, that's why crime occurs. But you still make arrests. I have 4 witnesses. I guess when the woman drives recklessly, hits someone and kills them THEN you will do something when it's too late. I 100% support the police - and there are a lot of officers with the department that are very nice, but tonight Wake Forest could have done better. Had she have hit my daughter, she wouldn't be breathing... then I suppose I would be arrested even though you didn't "see" anything.
