Yes, the library is small for the town of Wake Forest, but it was built almost 15 years ago, or so. I've never not been able to find what I needed, or at least have it sent from another library in Raleigh. Someone mentioned all the kids that always seem to be "running around", I've been in there when they have their programs, and they are well attended. Someone mentioned that the library was overran with kids. Some of it also comes from the fact that some parents refuse to teach their child how to act in a library and think it's perfectly ok to run and play and like a 2 year old. Not fair to blame the library for that. Franklin Academy is nearby and folks seem to come there after school to do homework, ect. Granted, it's not as big as the larger libraries in Raleigh, but to come and live outside Raleigh, I think the library does very well for the size. Wake Forest has doubled or tripled in growth since I moved here in mid-90's. They also have a rotating collection, which means that all the Wake County Libraries share the books. So, while you may not see what you want there, you can always request it from Raleigh or use the Interlibrary Loan Service as I do. For out of county residents, such as myself, it's only 25.00 per year to be able to check out books. Durham, Chapel Hill and some other places, charge much more. Once the new library opens up in Wakefield, I was told my one of the Librarians, that they are supposed to be getting an expansion in about another year or so. No library is going to have all the books for everyone.
Idky but I'm addicted to this place I guess. Librarians are the BEST! They're nice and helpful. Location is good. Not a very quite place though but I like it. The moment you put your foot into the lib it's like you enter into a new world. I really really like it.
Also, if you look at the pictures on Google for this branch, one of them is wrong. It lists a photo of the inside of the Wake Forest University library (which is in Winston Salem), and the inside of this branch looks nothing like that.
When I'm absolutely distracted at home, I love coming here to get work done. There's not always a comfy seat open, but you can usually find one somewhere. Be warned: the back area with the three outlet chairs and tables is always super drafty. Bring a jacket or two.
Not the best library in the area. It's rather small for town the size of Wake Forest, I believe. And, every time I'm here it is overran with children. Now, a library is a great place for kids, and I think libraries should cater to families with children. However, the way this library is set up, it's hard to use it for anything else. The selection of books is also lacking, even for a branch this size. I've lived in Wake Forest for years now and soon learned to go to Raleigh or Durham for a library.
i love this one , their customer service is wonderful , its just small one
