This is a great place to go camping. It is hike in-.25 to 1 mile depending on the site you use. I have been twice and I almost had the entire place to myself. Not busy in August. Very quiet except for planes flying over from Raleigh Durham airport. The bathroom/shower building at the entrance is clean and well maintained. Just be on the lookout for poison ivy and oak. It pops up here and there.
Excellent group camp sites. The Overlook site has room for lots of tents (we had about 45 people), right next to the canoe put in. Not the best beach for motor boats, but we made it work.

Nice big camping areas with access to the lake. Group areas are furnished with very nice big grills.
