The bright spot of our night was the service. Our waitress named Allison was top-notch. She was attentive, knowledgeable and had a great personality. She was great at her job and I enjoyed our interactions throughout the night. Without her the night would've been uninteresting like the menu.
I found Farm Table to be underwhelming. I'm not a foodie nor will I write a review trying to pass myself off as such. The menu was limited in its offerings and everything had some sort of sauce with a crazy name which I felt was on it in an attempt to justify the price. For example, I had the roasted chicken that had peach vinaigrette type of relish piled on top of it. It tasted as I was afraid it would...like peaches soaked in vinegar. Just seemed like they were trying too hard to impress.
I made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner on the Farm Table's website around the end of August/beginning of September. The website accepted the reservation for two people at 5 PM. I just called the restaurant to confirm the reservation and was told they are not open tomorrow because it's Thanksgiving. Yeah, I know that. I asked why their website allowed me to make the reservation in the first place. Their website apparently doesn't recognize which days the restaurant is closed. I asked why they didn't contact me when they saw a reservation come through for a day they were closed. No good answer. It is 8:30 PM the night before Thanksgiving and I have no place to take my elderly mother for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I won't go to that restaurant ever again.
The bar was stocked pretty well... Maker's Mark coupled with Allison stopping by periodically salvaged the night.
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! For those trying to eat healthy, the Farm Table is an oasis in the midst of a nutritional desert. The focus is on delicious, quality food, rather than quantity.
Had a great first dining experience at Farm Table for our 30th wedding anniversary Nov 14. Fantastic waiter who did not rush us. Scallops with pumpkin risotto was fabulous!!!. Beet salad was awesome. Would highly recommend this high quality food experience. THANKS SO MUCH!!! You made my evening very special.
Some people may like this kind of place, and I see many people's reviews that indicate they're out there. This place just wasn't for me. The Gatehouse Tavern (next door, same owners) is the better bet.
If you want to pig out, the Golden Corral/trough is a great place.
Good food and atmosphere. Decent service. But, small portions on some plates. My father in law ordered the scallops and there were only 3 scallops. My husband ordered the chicken and it was the smallest piece of chicken I've ever seen from a restaurant (how much is chicken costing them for goodness sake?!)! There wasnt much else on their plates to fill them up either in terms of side items. Maybe if they put some bread out or something?? I didn't even see a "regular" side salad on the menu (although I love them, my husband doesn't go for the "fancy" salads with figs, beets, etc). For the money they charge for these plates, there is no reason someone should leave hungry. My husband and father in law ended up finishing the kid's leftover french fries because they were so hungry! Disappointed in my mixed drink as well...ended up leaving half of it at the table.
